News from Genevieve MCC
We’re settling into 2019 and wines are in tank.
Always a tricky time of the year just before harvest, it feels like a “hurry up and wait” scenario to me, but the grapes came in healthy, with our biggest problem being bird damage. This year we tackled the problem with bird nets and lots of clapping and hooting the latter being my way of trying to insult them for eating our delicious berries.
This is first year we’ve decided to make Méthode Cap Classique from our Shiraz vineyards!
We hand picked at a low sugar levels to keep the lovely acidity but still maintaining the light berry bouquet flavours that can be found in Shiraz. As this is the maiden vintage we’re pretty excited!
