
Gabrielskloof Vineyard News 2019
After some glorious winter rainfall on Gabrielskloof, sinking into the soil profiles to quench the thirsty deeper roots. We’re through the sensitive flowering cycle for most of the white cultivars, but the reds are lagging due to this cool period. Some pressure to get through the last few blocks for suckering, and to keep a close eye on the mildews – they love these conditions! Apart from this we are pulling out weeds on the banks, tipping and tucking shoots into wires are part of the day-to-day, getting the vines comfy for what’s looking to be a gentle lead up to veraison. As you can see from the photo we have a number of these little friends nesting in our vines. So special!
