Bot River Wines tasted by Master Sommeliers

A group of Master Sommeliers from all over the world visited our thriving little town of Bot River to taste the wines from our valley.

They experienced the fresh and vibrant Sauvignon and Chenin Blanc’s followed by elegant, cooler climate Pinotage and Pinot Noir, rich, spicy Shiraz and some individual blends. Interesting single varietal wines like Verdelho and Mourvedre were a first for this group while visiting South Africa.
Some healthy debate about the South African wine industry gave us some good insight as to how foreigners perceive South African wines and how we fit into this ever growing world of wine.
They were left with a lasting impression of this unique piece of earth from which the Bot River wines are produced.
